Academic Business Club (students)

BalkTiu.jpg

The Academic Business Club (ABC) is a network society for higher professional and university students who plan to start up their own business after graduation. ABC was established in 2004 on the initiative of Joop Vianen, an entrepreneurship pioneer, and Tilburg University students who felt the need to develop their sense of entrepreneurship. The society regularly hosts business visits, lectures and workshops. ABC is interesting for any student with an interest in entrepreneurship or with the ambition to launch their own business after graduation. The ABC community puts them in touch with other (student) entrepreneurs so they can learn from their visions, ideas and experiences.

The Road

Since 2007, ABC has been supported by the Tilburg local council to host The Road, a symposium on entrepreneurship, whose inspirational speakers and examples help students to gain an idea of what entrepreneurship is really like in practice. Such speaker included Niels Peteri, co-founder of Quooker, the producers of boiling-water taps, and Ynzo van Zanten, influencer in the domain of corporate responsibility policies and working as ‘Choco Evangelist’ with Tony’s Chocolonely to spread the story of chocolate makers with a mission.
